The Voyeur Partner Meditation

Here’s a lovely partner meditation I call ‘Voyeur’, you can do it with your romantic partner but also with friends too. It’s a lovely way to connect and be mindful but more than that, it’s just so refreshing to sit down and be present with one another, without having intentions or making demands.

  • Friends A and B sit opposite each other on chairs, setting a timer for five minutes.
  • Friend A: close your eyes, settle down and enjoy some easy breathing.
  • Friend B: watch Friend A as they sit there breathing gently. Simply allow them to be as they are. Perhaps start by noticing the signs of their breathing. Not wanting anything from them, liking or disliking, wanting them to be different, to relax or to do a certain thing. Just be the accepting witness of their being.
  • When the timer buzzes, close by thanking your friend and then switch roles.
